A Lipstick That Stays Put
Give it up for Chanel -- they know how to keep your lips coral-hued through lunch.

I was long suspicious of claims that lip color could last more than a couple hours.
I mean, it's your mouth -- your salivating, smiling, coughing, chatting mouth.
Other than permanent paint, how could anything adhere through all that?
Well, several samples later, I agree that a few lipsticks/glosses do have a certain longevity -- and do not require turpentine to remove.
But the ones I've tried tend to have such a thick, pasty consistency, you might as well be applying caulk to your lips. Their density of hue, too, can also make you feel like you've gone Goth without trying.
I've found Chanel's Rouge Double Intensite Ultra Wear Lip Colour to be different. (Yes, I know those long, pretentious French names that so many cosmetic companies apply to things so silly as lip gloss can be awfully tiresome. But that's the worst you can say about this product. Well, that and the fact that it costs $34 a tube.)
There's a reason why Allure Magazine once voted this product one of the best. This stuff goes on feather light. It dries in an instant. And it stays put, I'm telling you, all day -- at least. The other night when I went to wash my face, I was surprised to still see traces of color. The gloss, too, is nearly unnoticeable once it's applied, which is a real marvel.
Frankly, who has the time to reapply regular lipsticks all day long? If I had that much energy, I'd probably start exercising too.
Get Chanel's Rouge Double Intensite Ultra Wear Lip Colour at all Chanel counters. New hues are introduced seasonally.
I am going to run out tomorrow and buy me 4 different colors of this new CHEAP lipstick. I have been looking for something that will stay on for five minutes after I put it on. I usually end up licking it off. Does this taste bad or anything? I will find out tomorrow and thanks
Chanel.
I SWEAR by Cover Girl Outlast All Day Lip Color. I have used it for about 6 years and I absolutely wouldn't use anything else.
I am a Make-Up Artist and I always use it when I do make-up for weddings, because it will stay on thru kissing, eating, drinking, etc. It lasts for hours.
You just have to make sure, that after applying the color, you HAVE to wait until the color dries before you put on the clear gloss that comes with it.
And it costs anywhere from $7 to $9 compared to $30 for the Chanel.
They also have great colors. I use Moonlit Mauve, which is a GREAT color for people that have been classified as a Winter or Summer (in color draping--where you determine what your best make-up and clothes colors are).
I love, love, love Cover Girl Outlast!
