Easy Root Touch Up

Cover grays with this spray-on powder. The best part? No messy dying necessary.

You just get your hair colored, and it seems only days later, the grays are already showing. Can't someone make a pill to reverse gray hair back to its original, pre-gray color? Very unlikely.

And the darker the hair, the more noticeable the gray—sometimes making it look like you're balding from a distance.

For obvious reasons, I'm rather obsessed with covering any signs of gray hair. Not wanting to get color done every two weeks (I have met women who do this), I am committed to the every-four-weeks routine. But I have to tell you, by week three, I'm really counting the days.

Then, a stylist turned me onto this cool, spray-on hair powder from Bumble and Bumble. You just spray it over your roots, brush it through and the grays are gone. It also washes out, so you're not dying your hair—just temporarily covering the gray. The finish is a little off-putting, it feels kind of rough, sort of like sticky hairspray. Guess you can't have everything.

The Hair Powder comes in four shades: blondish, red, brown and black. A 4-oz. bottle is $35.

When I saw this I had nightmarish visions of that spray 'hair' stuff (http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages/jr_hair_thick_med_bn.html) that was always advertised very late night.  Scary ... having trouble getting past that visual.

Thanks for your comments. This product is not better than hair dye—it's for in-between color.

I am severly allergic to the chemicals in hair dye..probably peroxide...so I can't dye my hair. I have found a product from the line 'Sebastian" and it is called Cellophanes. It is a hair stain with no adverse effects what so ever. If applied properly, meaning saturate the hair, go under the dryer for 20-30 minutes, the wash, it lasts almost as long as dyes. I'm over 50 years old with gray hair and this works great.

I earned my gray and I love it.  I have dark hair and it shows.  No dye for me!

I saw on TV that the stylist uses the following:  lightly spray hair spray on the grays and then take an eye shadow the same color as ur hair and blend it in and then spray lightly again with hair spray.  It sounds like this product is basically the same; just invest the time and save the $35 for 4 ounces.  I would definitely not buy this product.  It looks like a waste of money.

Do any of you know if this product has chemicals????, I am HIGHLY allergic to the hair dye, but this seems to b natural since it does not "stick" forever.... I am desperate, and my grays are showing more and more in my long black hair....Please let me know!!!

Ok.. so I know this is a bit off topic, but I thought we all could use a little laugh.. or a cry whichever you choose after reading this.. Anyway.  I am trying to look a little better.. take care of myself, eat right..etc.  To do this, I am starting to cook for myself more.  So, as a result.. my boyfriend came home with THIS cookbook for me as a gift... I can't mention the name cause I don't want to offend anyone.. but suffice it to say.. I was a bit miffed.  So tonight I am going to make him the "Lick my Boots Lamb" with a side of "Eat Me Eggplant"  and serve it to him in a dog dish on the floor... how you like them apples sweetie??
