Barbie On Location Barcelona; Photo courtesy of Target.comBarbie has fat ankles, or cankles? What?

Then, what does that mean normal-sized women have?

Christian Louboutin, famous the world over for his sexy, red-soled stilettos, caused quite a commotion over his comment that the iconic doll's ankles were too fat, as reported by WWD.

The designer is one of the latest designers to work with the plastic fantastic doll, creating three designer Barbies coming out next spring, all wearing his high heels.

In all fairness, perhaps this comment was due to a language barrier—at least that's what Louboutin's spokesperson suggested.

Let's hope so.

The Barbie on Location-Barcelona doll pictured above is available at Target for $27.99.

How To Create Beautiful Smoky Cat Eyes

Younger looking eyes...

--The first step is to reduce fine lines. So apply a little eye cream on the brow bone and under the eye.

--Next dab on a concealer that matches your skin tones.

--The last step is to line the eye with a white pencil just beneath the lash line. This will give the impression of larger and brighter eyes.

There is a large (forgive the pun) difference between Marilyn Monroe's size 12 and the size 12 of today. Her size 12 is about equivalent to our size 7/8.
While still would've been considered fat by Hollywood standards, she wasn't as big as the number on her dresses would lead us to believe.
She was still gorgeous though.

I think some of you should have gone back to school and got your "grammar degree" before you posted on here. Its irritating, when reading this, to have to pause and make sense of what's trying to be relayed because of bad spelling/grammar. Here's a nifty idea. Mattel should come out with an "Language Professor Barbie" and rid the world of bad spelling and grammar.

P.S. There's also a spell check button next to the "post" button. Its there for a reason. Don't waste it.

.....before you slam other people...be sure to change "an language professor barbie" to A language professor barbie.........lol. niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

Grammar and spelling are like flour in a cake.  I only notice flour in a cake if there's a big solid unmixed lump of it in the middle of my slice.  I only notice grammar and spelling if they detract my attention from the message the writer is trying to communicate.  And since the whole point of writing is to communicate, is it not pointless if it fails because of poor grammar and spelling?

The Truth About Pants And Women

Long ago, women wore skirts or dresses. Pants were too tomboyish. Too mannish.. until the recent decades. Skirts and dresses were associated with femininity while pants were associated with masculinity. Too uncouth for women.
Things have changed tremendously. Now, practically every woman owns at least a few pairs of pants or jeans and can look very feminine, very sexy in them.

Stop the hate!  I am fed up with people acting like if everyone slim is anorexic!  Some of us are naturally so.  Deal with your oun body issues without hating Barbie!  I am 35, have two kids and am a size 2.  And I am not anorexic! And one more thing - I LOVE Barbie!

>_> I'm sorry everything you just said barely had anything to do with the topic. Go to another story that's about grammar, then rant about it. The point of posting something here was to share our thoughts, not get lectured.

Barbie is not the real issue here at all. Society is the problem. Barbie and the English Sindy dolls were both originally designed with impossible body dimensions, huge "Madonna cone" breasts, tiny waists and staggeringly long legs. Over the years they have been modified into an almost attainable body shape, the shape that appears on the fashion runways of the world and magazines. The fact that this body shape is now starting to be attacked as the cause for psychological issues suffered by a percentage young women. Leave the doll alone and look at the real problem... the media and fashion worlds.

Finally the sexiest woman in the 20th century was a size 12! Marilyn Monroe who is still an icon for woman of all ages decades after her death.

P.S. Hope my grammar and spelling is up to the standards of trontek and GuRLs-FuRy

While the major influence in a child's view of their own self-worth may be their parents, I doubt that how they act or how they comment on things such as Barbie's ludicrous proportions is going to change. My cousin, who has taken first place in several beauty pageants, once cut the hair off of every single Barbie in their house because, as she stated, "I don't want Barbie to be prettier than me". Dead serious. I never had an issue with it because my parents never said anything about it. Some kids are not as fortunate. If someone says something about Barbie being skinny, causing the child to compare themselves to her, it has the possibility to become an issue. So unless you're ready to stop criticizing and/or idolizing Barbie, or other skinny women in popular culture, maybe Barbie DOES need to be changed...
