Oo La La...La Lohan

Her work with fashion house Ungaro is met with negative press.

Really, is anyone surprised?

Fashion critics around the globe panned Lohan's work for Ungaro which debuted during Paris Fashion Week. The line included looks you can imagine the former Disney star wearing—lots of bright colors and hearts, but looks that were perhaps not exactly suited for the Parisian runways. (WWD called it "an embarassment" and said the hot pink and orange clothes looked "cheesy and dated.")

Let's dial it back a bit. Was it not odd that Ungaro would make the infamous party queen artistic advisor to the esteemed fashion house in the first place? Responsibility and focus are not words one associates with Lohan; perhaps Miley Cyrus would have been a better choice? (Designer Esteban Cortazar left Ungaro this summer over disagreement about using celebrities in ad campaigns at the label.)

Lately, Lohan seemed more excited about the perks of the job, as in, the free clothes, than the job itself. WWD recently reported that she selected some 100,000 euros of clothes, or about $150,000 worth, from Ungaro's Paris flagship store on Avenue Montaigne.

To that, Ungaro chief executive Mounir Moufarrige said: "It’s part of the deal. What do you want, for her to be naked? I’m just so glad she likes Ungaro."

Lohan better enjoy those clothes—sounds like her days as artistic advisor might be running short.

Who can blame Lohan for taking the job? What do you think, should fashion houses stop hiring celebrities as "artistic advisors?" Is it an insult to fashion designers who have actually studied and worked in design?

this is also true.  lets leave fashion to those who know something about it.  she should stick with partying, flashing her privates when getting out of cars, and being a complete car wreck.

the whole point of runway is to overexaderate.  some of these clothes do look wearable.  or in other words... Boring.  when you look at fashion and you say "god, who would wear that"  it's simply an exaderation, it gets the buyers interested.  they tone down the look in a sence to make them more appealing to buyers when it is at the store.

do you remember the huge down feather coats that urban designers still play off off.  you should have seen how huge they were on the runway.  it's only to catch the eye.  Lohan simply did not get that bigger is better and that less is not more.

o and as for the models.  runway models are hangers.  their hair is slicked back so it's more simple to change and so they don't distract from the clothing they are showing.  the clothes don't walk themselves.  if they could we would be quick to get rid of models.  models are like backstage help at a play, dressed in black, so no one can notice them easily.  only in High fashion and big names do you find models with big hair and bold makeup.

Maybe if we just stop talking about Lohan she will just go away...

Can't see what the whole fuss is about.Confused  The clothes look ok to me, actually wearable. Perhaps the big panning of the designs is because they actually look like clothes young and not so young women could wear.

Perhaps the problem is the models.  All look like they could do with several nourishing meals, while most look like maybe a little fresh air and sunshine would not go amiss, as they look rather malnourished, anorexic, gaunt and pasty.ThinkingSad

It would appear that hot pinks and bright colours only serves to show how unhealthy thin these young women look and make the lack in muscle tone more pronounced imo.Sad

The slicked back hair style does not help either, rather only serves to accentuate how meagre/thin these young women actually are.
